Do Scented Living and Work Spaces Benefit Our Well-being?

Scented living and work spaces have gained popularity in recent years as a means to enhance our well-being. The use of fragrances in our surroundings can affect our mood, productivity, and overall sense of happiness. By incorporating pleasant scents into our everyday environments, we can potentially create a more harmonious and uplifting atmosphere.

Advantages of Scented Spaces

1. Improved Mood

Certain scents, such as lavender, lemon, or vanilla, have been associated with calming effects and can help reduce stress and anxiety. By incorporating these fragrances into our living and work spaces, we can create a more relaxing ambience, leading to a better mood and overall well-being.

2. Increased Productivity

Studies have shown that pleasant smells can have a positive impact on our cognitive abilities and productivity. Invigorating scents, such as citrus or peppermint, can help stimulate our senses and keep us alert and focused throughout the day. This can ultimately lead to improved performance in our work or daily tasks.

3. Enhanced Atmosphere

Scented spaces can contribute to creating a more inviting and pleasant environment for individuals. Whether it's a beautifully scented living room or an office with a hint of natural fragrances, these spaces can provide a calming and comforting atmosphere, making them more enjoyable and conducive to relaxation or productivity.

Scented living and work spaces offer a plethora of mental health benefits that can greatly enhance our overall well-being. The power of scent has been utilised for centuries to uplift, calm, and invigorate the human mind. A carefully selected fragrance can create an atmosphere of tranquillity, reducing stress and anxiety levels. Whether it's the fresh scent of lavender that promotes relaxation or the vibrant aroma of citrus that boosts mood and energy, scented spaces have a direct impact on our emotional state. Moreover, the olfactory system has a strong connection to memory and emotion, allowing fragrances to evoke fond recollections or create new positive associations. By incorporating carefully chosen scents in our living and work spaces, we can transform our environments into havens of mental well-being and achieve a greater sense of harmony within ourselves.

From A.I. Odour Control to Actualised Industries: learn about our rebrand

Actualised Industries are a 100% Australian-based, family-owned company with a vision to bring the purity of the great outdoors, indoors. We do this through a host of industry-leading air sanitation solutions for all types of facilities.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, our focus was on the enablement of more pleasant environments through a host of indoor scenting solutions. Back then, the business was called A.I. Odour Control Solutions, highlighting the advantages of scented environments.

But almost overnight, the strata management category saw a dramatic change in priorities. While a scented atmosphere can represent a competitive business advantage by increasing dwelling time and shopping baskets, ensuring a healthy environment, free from virus and bacteria, immediately became the new competitive battleground.

With a new commercial reality, our brand also had to adapt and evolve. Our first step was to review our company's brand architecture, elevating the A.I. acronym with its full articulation, Actualised Industries, to the masterbrand level. This was a way to quickly infer the broadening of Actualised Industries' offering from incremental to transformational solutions able to, indeed, help actualise our clients' potential.

This new direction was supported by a full redesign of our brand's identity, adopting Gopher as the new font, literally allowing for a more 'breathable Customer Experience'. That was supported by a new logo lockup with an industrial helix device communicating the flow of pure, clean air delivered via Actualised Industries' Commercial Grade Air Sanitation Systems, made up by Hepa-filters, UVC germicidal lamps, Trioxygen technology, all complemented by cutting edge scenting solutions (fixed and portable).

Better Air. Better Health. Better Business. is not just a new tagline but our company's renewed mission. Along with my brother-in-law, we've committed to building a Family Business with Family Values and the support we received from SURGE, our appointed brand strategy and communications consultancy, was world-class.

As eloquently concluded by Colin Mayer FBA, Professor of Management at the Saїd Business School, Oxford University, on his Future of the Corporation research program, the purpose of business - in this emerging stakeholder capitalism system - is to "Produce profitable solutions from the problems of people and planet, and not profit from creating problems."

Actualised Industries is that type of brand and nothing could make us prouder than to signal positive change as we continue to navigate the many complexities and complications experienced since the COVID-19 outbreak a little over two years ago.

Better Air. Better Health. Better Business.

How is ozone used in facilities' Odour Control?

Ozone is created through artificial UltraViolet Light. As the gas is carried over surfaces, it disinfects and neutralises the environment creating a more pleasant and safer working atmosphere.

Why do we scent facilities?

This practice has been widespread for decades, and thanks to modern technology we can create beautiful fragrances and distribute them in a perfect manner, regardless of the environment you are in. We can manipulate the scent to travel where required to create your desired atmosphere.

Why do we have fly board units installed alongside the odour control systems?

Fruit flies are a real pest in a range of facilities. FlyBoard units, an add-on option, can address that and immediately enhance the system for superior results, at a nominal monthly charge.

When can you obtain advice regarding installations, performance and customer service queries?

We are available 7 days a week for any enquiries. Don’t be shy, come say hi.
